Servant Leadership
Lead with Impact
Servant Leadership at a Glance:
How do you become a leader who makes an impact?
Leading with impact begins with learning how to be a good follower. Why? Because the best leaders understand and live out servant-hearted leadership in all that they do. LIFT provides the instruction and real-life experience needed to help you grow as a servant of God who actively leads with humility in a world aiming for status.
The Stepping Stones to Servant Leadership
“Christian leaders who know God and who know how to lead in a Christian manner will be phenomenally more effective in their world than even the most skilled and qualified leaders who lead without God.”
Henry Blackaby
Service in Action
Conferences
Serve CAMP-of-the-WOODS members during their retreats here. Get to know them as you volunteer in our many departments - like wait staff! You’ll gain experience in a variety of roles as you learn to work together as a team even on the job.
The Local Community
Become part of the community through local outreaches. Help your neighbors rake their leaves, volunteer at the community’s clothing closet or food pantry, respond to elderly house calls, help with sound at the church, help with trail work at Oak Mountain, and more!
Mission Trips
Meet the needs of those in nearby urban cities or down in Central America on your spring trip to Guatemala. Experience a part of God’s Kingdom work on earth as you work alongside missionaries who dedicate their lives to serving the least of these (Matthew 25:40).
Leadership Opportunities
On Adventures
Be a Leader Of the Day (LOD) or an Assistant Leader Of the Day (ALOD). You’ll learn the ins and outs of leadership when it comes to preparation and planning for the wilderness excursions you’ll go on.
Summer Leadership Practicum
Grow in your leadership skills as you work in key department roles under full-time staff as managers, supervisors, and assistants. You’ll learn first-hand how a non-profit organization runs to serve its guests to the best of its ability.
Summer Leadership Practicum
In the Community
Lead within the daily life of your LIFT community. Be responsible for taking care of clean up, social planning, providing community snacks, coordinating outreaches, leading worship - just to name a few!
