Hi! We are Scott, Cindy, Clare & Sam Malefyt, and we are overseas workers who have been with Africa Inland Mission (AIM) since 2018, first in Kenya, now in France.
We serve a diverse, cross-cultural community of international university students furthering their education in France. Upon graduation, these students become international young professionals moving into the world of internships and careers while at the same time often searching for truth and its relationship to them. We walk alongside them sharing the good news and making disciples so that new believers will become as cities on a hill when they return to their home countries reaching people and places we cannot.
The Lord is using Scott’s background in professional engineering and Cindy’s in nursing education to help them connect with international students and professionals, many of whom pursue science degrees, particularly engineering. Clare and Sam reflect the light of Jesus through their friendly interactions with the international students and in their daily interactions with their classmates.
Our ministry is based upon a hospitality model with the following three goals of service:
1) Loving Our Neighbor – offering hospitality, shared meals, community
events, learning language as we build relationships.
2) Making Disciples – participating in community life, studying the Word in small groups or one-on-one, and sharing about our faith as a natural expression of our friendship.
3) Partnering with Churches – sharing our experiences in cross-cultural ministry with local French churches in ways that will enable them to engage with international students and young professionals in their communities.
