For nearly 125 years, CAMP-of-the-WOODS has experienced the Lord’s favor through the generosity of the Camp community, the wisdom, prayer support, and encouragement of Board Members, guests, and volunteers.
Between January 2005 and December 2022, the Camp community invested over $30 million into the ministry enabling Camp to thrive in supporting people, invest in mission-focused programs, and maintain renewed facilities (projects) for members, campers, and staff to experience rest and rejuvenation in God’s beautiful creation. It is so special to hear your stories about the generations of families who have come to Camp, made beautiful memories, and most importantly, encountered Jesus.
Over the years, your investments in this place have ensured that our foundations are secure for generations to come. Because of the generosity of the Camp family, we have been able to invest $13.8 million into upgrading every member and staff accommodation, creating restful and hospital housing for you and your grandchildren. Every Summer, approximately 8,000 people will be exposed to godly teaching and worship because of this housing.
In Larsen Lodge alone, $3 million has been invested and the lobby has become a popular place for families to read or play board games. The Sonju Sports Complex was almost $3 million as well, and has had thousands of little feet run across its floors during exciting sports games.
Your gifts of over $1 million have also enabled us to ensure that the camper cabins at Camp Tapawingo are up to date. 684 girls will continue to hear about Jesus every summer because of your investment into the “island of beauty.”
Your gifts of $3.2 million have helped us renovate the Hill Dining Hall, ensuring that thousands of people will be well-fed in a comfortable space with air recently installed air conditioning.
Your gifts of $1.6 million toward Tibbitts Auditorium and the Buirkle Center have ensured that we have sufficient places of worship with more up-to-date buildings, air conditioning (in the Buirkle Center), and equipment that enhances our audio and visual capabilities. Thank you for helping us to create that space.
Other gifts have gone toward maintaining and purchasing new vehicles, upgrading our Maintenance storage facility, and creating pickleball courts for family and friends to compete recreationally.
